Close-Up Photo Taking Tips For More Photogenic When Photographed

Taking picture, especially face close-ups photo taking sometimes have unexpected results. A phtographer Peter Hurley shared his simple trick to get better photogenic results when doing face close-ups photo taking as long as you do it with the key moment.

According to Peter, one of the fastest ways for any of his clients look better is by strengthening the chin line of the face. The trick is simple, make your face or someone's face you want to make a model to be slightly inclined towards the front when asked to pose headshot. Do not let the face position attached to the neck, as it would clarify the chin crease.


Let's take a look some photo examples below. Peter Hurley makes their chin line looks stronger and clearer profile from left to right so that each of them seem more beautiful / handsome by simply posing the chin lines in such a manner.




In addition to the simple tric above, there are a few other photogenic close-up tips as quoted from a number of professional photograpy blogs.


1. For a bald head, shoot the face from a low angle (the camera a bit up facing toward above) and if you use an extra lighting, making sure you are not bouncing the light source the head.

2. If the face has many wrinkles or many pimples, use a light source which is directed from the front, not from the side. The light coming from the front side would clarify these wrinkles texture.

3. If the face has big ears, manage the object the pose to show only one ear and try to have the pose that ear does not stand out.

4. If the face has snub-nosed, shoot from the front and manage the pose of the object to the face looking straight ahead.

5. If the object has a hefty chubby face, manage the pose to stare oblique to the right or to the left, but do not get straight to the side, just slightly askew.
